Situated high in the Clarke Range on the central Queensland coast, the forests of Eungella are isolated from other rainforest regions by extensive corridors of open dry forest. Here, near the edge of the escarpment, the uplifted and cooled sea breezes ensure these stands of piccabeen palms (Archontophoenix cunninghamiana) receive plenty of moisture.
