POSTER 9: GRASS TREES - Great Dividing Range (Q)
SIZE: 990 x 690mm
GO TO ORDERING PAGE

Unique to the Australian bush, the grass tree (Xanthorrhoea australis) is a conspicuous species amongst the understorey of the open and sunny forests across the continent. The plant's long and narrow leaves form a bushy top to a somewhat gnarled and often fire-blackened trunk.
This group of specimens is growing on a sunny shelf high on Mount Mitchell, overlooking Mount Cordeaux in the Main Range National Park of southern Queensland.
